Where To Eat: St. James Cheese Company

Where To Eat In NOLA

In a city known for their Cajun & Creole food, St. James is not your typical New Orleans restaurant. Yet, it’s a must visit while you’re in the area. With two locations, over 20 menu options, & countless cheeses, this family owned shop is quickly becoming a NOLA staple.

After all, if there’s one food everyone could agree upon, it’s most likely cheese. I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t like at least one type of cheese or some food smothered in it, whether it’s mac & cheese, grilled cheese, cheesecake, or just bites on it’s own. So we thought we’d do you all a favor & check out St. James Cheese Company at their new location in the Warehouse District & give you all the information you need for your next visit.

The cheese & charcuterie boards, as you would expect from a cheese restaurant, were beyond delicious. All items on both boards are picked daily by St. James in-house cheese & charcuterie “Cheesemonger” experts based on what they are loving at the moment, freshness, & season. Perfect to start your meal off with, these boards give you a great taste of what is to come.

Hello, yolk porn. Aka every food instagrammers dream come true. Especially when it’s topped on a fresh baguette, crispy grilled La Quercia Lomo, Manchego cheese, pimento aioli, & arugula. Exclusive to the Warehouse District location, this sandwich was our pick for lunch & there were no regrets at all.

Last but certainly not least was the incredible mac & cheese, the Cheesemonger’s Mac & Cheese to be correct. A blend of artisan cheeses picked out by their in-house Cheesemonger. Delightfully creamy & rich in flavor, this gourmet mac & cheese is not to be missed at St. James.

Some of St. James Cheese Company’s other highlights include the Raclette, a type of cheese you don’t see on many menus in the US, & their latest addition to the menu, cheese bites, which are paired with ingredients such as dark chocolate & strawberry jam or lemon curd, tarragon, & black lava salt to highlight the specific cheese it’s paired with.

Check out St. James Cheese Company in New Orleans at either their Warehouse District or Uptown locations.
