This season update the denim in your wardrobe not by buying new pieces but by revamping the ones you already have. These three tutorials are super simple & can each be done in under 10 minutes. From patchwork to beads & overalls to embroidery, there’s something for everyone in this DIY.
1. Patchwork Jeans
What You’ll Need: Jeans | Scissors | Bandanas | Fabric Glue
Step 1: Place cardboard or plastic inside jeans to prevent glue from leaking through. Cut bandanas into desired size. Fold over hems & glue to secure them so no frayed edges are showing. Let sit 1 hour.
Step 2: Place glue on back of bandanas & place onto jeans in desired spots. Press down to secure. Let sit 24 hours. Remove cardboard or material inside leg of jeans.
2. Embroidered Denim Skirt
What You’ll Need: Patches | Fabric Glue | Denim Skirt
Step 1: Place cardboard or plastic inside skirt to prevent glue leaking through. Line back of patches with glue. Place patch in desired spot & press down for 1 minute. Let sit 24 hours with heavy object (i.e. textbook) over the patches to secure in place.
3. Pearl Overalls
What You’ll Need: Overalls | Jewel Glue | Strand of Pearl Beads
Step 1: Place glue on one side of pearl strand. Place onto pocket & press down for 1 minute. Let sit 24 hours to secure.
