While this past weekend might have made it seem as though winter is coming to an end, if history has any chance of repeating itself then we have a feeling we’re in for another huge snow storm. We know, we know, we’re so sick of the puffy coats & oversized sweaters too. That’s why we put together this list of 4 unique winter outfit ideas that will help you easily transition into spring & still feel good about your clothes. From layering ideas you might not have thought of to wearing your pjs on the street (say what!) we’ve got some fresh new ideas that you can easily incorporate from your current wardrobe.
1. Swap An Items Purpose: We must have went through a huge maxi skirt trend because they take over quite a big section in our closet. While we still love ’em, we tend to grow sick of wearing the same thing over & over again (who’s with us?!) so that’s why we decided to wear them but in a different way. Maxi skirts with adjustable or elastic waistbands can easily double as a midi dress. We paired ours with an amazing suede jacket (it comes in SO many colors) & a fun pair of heels to give an old look an updated feel.
2. Incorporate Your Favorite Summer Pieces: Even though it’s no where near 80 degrees outside doesn’t mean you have to keep those “seasonal” items in storage. Layer an oversized sweater over your favorite summer mini dress & then pair that with some over-the-knee boots for a stylish & warm winter look. You an of course do the same with your favorite mini skirts!
3. Make Your Coziest Items Chic: You know that huge sweatshirt or t-shirt that you practically live in on a lazy Sunday & wouldn’t normally be caught dead in outside the house? Well, thanks to the Kardashian’s, that’s finally cool to wear out & about. Pair it with some over-the-knee boots for extra warmth & a corset belt if you’re looking to really go all the way with the look.
4. Take Your Pajamas To The Street: Aside from wearing that 10 year old sweatshirt out of the house, fashionistas are now starting to wear pjs & much to our surprise, it looks absolutely amazing. Pair a silk button up with distressed jeans or even a wide leg silk pant with a cotton tank & heels. While it’s hard to see in the image above, we chose to wear a slip tank with jeans, oversized scarf, & a sweater for a balanced look. You’ll thank us later for this incredibly comfortable look that is now socially acceptable.
