Summer Florals

Lulus Floral Maxi Dress

It’s a no-brainer that florals are essential for spring and summertime, and that’s why this post is dedicated to some of the most feminine yet fun floral spring maxis that you can wear just about anywhere. Between music festival season & summer weddings, something about flower patterns on lovely flowing maxis dresses is just irresistible. You can truly never have too many! With that being said, below are some of the different types of floral spring maxi dresses that you can get your hands on to celebrate the warm weather in style.

Summer Wedding Dresses

First we have cut-out details, which have been making huge waves on the fashion front as of lately. They are appearing on bodycon dresses and tops in the form of chest cut-outs and peek-a-boo shoulders. How does this style look on floral maxis? On the majority of designer dresses showcased recently, the cut-outs on floral maxis cut in from the ribcage area, which we feel is one of the most flattering styles. While we’re on the subject of maxi dresses one of our favorite updates to that style is the midi dress which while still long, is just a few inches shorter. With that being said, midi floral dresses are fabulous for spring because they allow for fun footwear options like sneakers and closed-toe pumps as seen in numerous galleries online.

But what if you want to go vintage? Well, sleeves reign supreme with this style of maxi dress. The vintage floral maxi is reminiscent of ‘70s burnout flower patterns, but modern twists on the old style make it a trendsetter’s spring staple. One way to offset the old-timey feel of these types of dresses is to find one with a lower neckline or to pair it with contrastingly futuristic shoes/accessories. Or you can go in the other direction and hop on another big trend right now: the high-neck design. Some of these maxis come in halter varieties, and some of them clip at the nape of your neck, leaving your shoulders very bare and center of attention. These styles are fabulous for women who have triangular shaped bodies, as they balance out the shoulders and slim the frame. Louis Roe’s frock is the perfect example of what to look for. And there’s the more vacation-y vibe. Hot weather is synonymous with pool days and beach getaways, and that’s why the beachy floral maxi is a very important addition to this list. For something a little more casual and less wedding-ready, the shapeless maxis with tropical botanicals are your go-to for weekend trips and carefree days. The best part about these dresses is that they still look uber chic, yet they are a total cinch to throw-and-go. These are your ultimate beach-to-bar clothing items. All five of these floral maxi styles are ideal for springtime. And they are all so different in detail that you can load up your warm-weather wardrobe with them and your outfits won’t seem redundant at all. Bring on the spring maxis!
