Public Lives: Be There In Five | Secret Recipes: Balsamic Pear Salad

Roasted Balsamic Pear Goat Cheese Salad

How does one go from hand painting floor mats out of her living room floor to running an uber-successful floor mat business in just 3 years? We chatted with Be There In Five founder, Kate Kennedy, over a delicious meal made by Kate herself to see just what it takes to become a successful #GirlBoss.

Ironically enough, Kate truly does value being on time. Be There In Five began after numerous trips back home to triple check if Kate had turned off her flat iron, the stove, curling iron, the list goes on & on. Thankfully for Kate, her calling of designing doormats with reminders on them helps to keep  her on time & able to avoid that dreadful text we are all guilty of sending, “Be there in 5!”.

Be There In Five Turn Off Your Stove

Working in an industry of entrepreneurs can be extremely intimidating, always comparing yourself to others, doubting why you’re not at the same level as the next person, & so much more. Kate’s advice for making your business work while also staying sane? Keep your head down. “Too often we’re consumed by what others are doing instead of focusing on what got us here in the first place” Kate notes. Keep track of your talent, what you have to offer, your drive, your hustle, & you’ll go big places.

Kate not only gives top-notch advice but she makes a killer salad. Sure, sure salad you’re thinking, how great could it be?! This however is no ordinary salad. True to the Be There In Five lifestyle, Kate is a huge fan of recipes that sound fancy but take under 30 minutes to make such as this roasted balsamic pear salad she made for us. Lucky for you, she shared her “secret” recipe below!
