I have to confess, although slightly embarrassing, this shoot was quite the journey. It started off by driving to downtown Cleveland in order to go to the Ohio City Farm Stand. Open September through November, and being that it was November 28th, I figured perfect–cool background, good food, meet the people who run the joint–great story, it’ll go viral, I’ll be famous overnight. Ok maybe I got a little ahead of myself there, but still I thought it would be a perfect experience for PLSR.
Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful day in Cleveland (a place where 90% of the days are filled with either snow or clouds in the sky). So as we drove around for 30 minutes in circles trying to find this Farm Stand based off zooming in or Google Images or Google Maps, we finaaaally found this gem. Ya know where? Right next to the West Side Market. Yup, remember that? From one week ago. OOPS!
Anyways, after finally finding our not so hidden treasure, we discovered on the last weekend of its “open” days, it was closed. Double fail! So as much as I would love to report on the fresh fruits & veggies they sold, you’re going to have to resort to Yelp! for that.
Although we didn’t get to experience the food portion of it, we did get to experience Cleveland for the beauty it holds (I know, I know two seconds ago I told you how gloomy it was…it was a beautiful day what can I say!). Behind the Farm Stand lies an incredible view of downtown Cleveland. Across the street are tons of booming new restaurants. Right next door, HA, is the West Side Market. And all around are happy people enjoying their city & the great food it has to offer.
