Homemade Conversation Heart Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- for cakes:
- 1 stick butter melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup egg whites
- 4 tsp vanilla
- 1¾ cup flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¾ cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- for frosting:
6 cups powdered sugar
- ½ stick butter, melted
- 4tbsp milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
food coloring of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl & stir to combine.
- Wrap bottom of springform pans tightly in tin foil so batter does not leak through.
- Pour batter into springform pans about ¼ full & place on baking tray.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes completely cool & then pop out of springform pans.
- In separate mixing bowl, mix together all frosting ingredients & frost cakes with spatula.
- With frosting writing pen, write out Valentine’s Day quotes on cakes. Enjoy!
