You’re about knee deep in shortbread cookies & can’t even look at another plate of pie. Yet ’tis the season for indulging & we’ve got just the place for you to do so. We checked out DMK Burger Bar in Lakeview earlier this week & boy is it good. From their truffle fries (probably sold you already right!?) to their infamous burgers & shakes this is the perfect place to grab a bite with friends. Did we mention you can turn those shakes into boozy drinks? SOLD.
We started off with the Gingerbread Milkshake which is DMK’s limited edition December shake flavor. AKA stop reading this & RUN to DMK to get yourself this shake. It’s beyond delicious & that’s coming from someone who isn’t even a huge gingerbread fan. The ice cold shake is filled with pieces of gingerbread that become cake-like from the milkshake mixture. It’s the perfect consistency & is ideal for this time of year.
For starters we got the truffle parmesan french fries & truffle mac & cheese. As a truffle feen I was blown away by these two dishes. The flavors in the fries were a perfect combination of subtle truffle & subtle parmesan leaving you with an intense flavor in every bite. The mac & cheese (which comes served with peas making it healthy, right?!) wasn’t overly creamy & was not even close to dry. It had just enough cheese that I didn’t feel disgusting after & enough to keep me satisfied. If you consider yourself a truffle addict as I do, DMK has got to be on your to-do list.
Now for the burger. First of all, the options are endless at DMK. From grass-fed beef to turkey burgers, portobello to salmon burgers, & lamb to chorizo burgers, there’s truly something for everyone here. We chose the grass-fed bison burger topped with fresh goat cheese, blueberry BBQ sauce, & pickled red onion. I’m drooling just thinking about it! I can’t wait to go back & try several other burgers on their list (there are over 15 options!).
