Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Cone Recipe

If your Instagram feed is anything like ours, it’s constantly being taken over by the latest food trends. The most recent? Any sort of ice cream cone that isn’t made from your standard waffle or sugar ingredients. So why not hop on the bandwagon & create our own unique ice cream cone recipe. After all, most of the ones we see are in other countries & let’s face it, as much as we’d like to hop on the next plane to Australia that isn’t the most realistic. So here you have it folks, our very own invention for a cinnamon roll ice cream cone that YOU can easily recreate at home!

Take your favorite cinnamon roll recipe (we provided ours below) & fill it with all the ice cream & toppings your little heart desires. These smell so delicious we almost missed our window to even take any pictures of them! As if you too wouldn’t devour these immediately, keep in mind since they are hollow they will go stale quicker. Aka let them cool completely so the ice cream doesn’t melt but do eat within 24 hours for ultimate freshness. Enjoy!

Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Cone Recipe

Ingredients

  • for dough:
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light almond milk (buttermilk will work too!)
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 2½ cups all purpose flour
  • for filling:
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tbsp cinnamon, to taste

Instructions

  • Over low heat, combine butter & milk in medium saucepan. Stir until the butter is liquid & then pour mixture into large mixing bowl.
  • Let mixture cool for 5 minutes or until temperature of warm bath water. Add in yeast & let activate for 10 minutes.
  • Add in 1 tbsp granulated sugar & salt. Stir.
  • Add in flour 1 cup at a time while stirring.
  • Place dough on lightly floured surface & knead for one minute. Place ball of dough into sprayed mixing bowl, cover with plastic wrap, & place in warm area to rise until doubled in size.
  • On lightly floured surface, flatten dough until about ½ inch wide & ¼ inch thick.
  • In mixing bowl, combine all filling ingredients & sprinkle onto dough.
  • Roll tin foil into cone shape. Wrap the dough around tin foil so that all the foil is covered & dough is completely connected.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F & bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Let cones cool completely. Enjoy!
