It’s as if that sign out from was reading our minds during our time in LA. Of course we were absolutely loving the 80 degree weather but there is only limited time when in the midwest everything is pumpkin flavored. So since we didn’t want to miss out on that we quickly headed into Milk Jar Cookies to enjoy some pumpkin pie cookies (a must order!) as well as quite a few other ones… #NoSelfControl
At Milk Jar you must, must, must order the classic Chocolate Chip Cookie. We recommend asking them to warm it up if you’re enjoying there or warming it up on your own (10 seconds max in the microwave) if you’re taking it to go. There was nothing standard about this standard cookie flavor. It was beyond soft & chewy with a warm, melt-in-your-mouth center, just how we like our cookies (who doesn’t?!).
Another flavor we just couldn’t get enough of was the Banana Split (again, served warm!). Part of Milk Jar’s “Ice Cream Line” of cookies, this cookie is what we envision ice cream tasting like if you could serve it warm without being melted. This cookie, which is made with a banana dough, is filled with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and chopped walnuts not to mention it has a fresh strawberry slice smack dab in the middle. #DessertGoals
The third cookie you absolutely need to order at Milk Jar Cookies is the Rocky Road, another one from the “Ice Cream Line”. Served warm, this cookie is perfectly accompanied by a tall glass of milk or hot cocoa. If you’re really lookin’ to go big at Milk Jar (highly recommended!) we suggest ordering it warm with the marshmallow ice cream. It’s the ultimate dessert combination worth every second of a food coma.
While the cookies are top notch at Milk Jar, so is the decor. Antique plates line the walls, paper straws are served with your milk, & cute teacups for your hot cocoa or coffee. Not to mention you have the option of outdoor or indoor seating which is always a plus in our book.
Drink-wise, we definitely recommend opting for both milk to dunk your cookies in & hot cocoa to enjoy on it’s own or for dunking purposes as well. Double the chocolate, double the fun…right?!
