Despite the seemingly kale-addicted population here in Los Angeles, there appears to be a donut shop on nearly every corner of the city. In fact, one Google search yields the result that there are over 800 donut shops here in Los Angeles county. Say whaaaat! So how exactly do you go about finding the best ones? Better yet, once you find your favorite, how do you decide which variety to order? That’s where I come in. After tons of research, countless recommendations from LA natives, & a quick trip myself, I’m here to tell you, Sidecar Doughnuts is a must-visit in LA.

As for what to order, the #1, must-have on my list from Sidecar Doughnuts is the Huckleberry. Holy Huckleberry, as they should call it, is an Oregon huckleberry cake doughnut topped with huckleberry glaze. Somehow the middle of this donut tastes like a huckleberry cake donut dough & it’s one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. You will not regret ordering this bad boy. A few other must-try flavors are Butter & Salt (super unique with a salty, sweet combo), Glaze (can’t go wrong with this classic that is glazed with a Madagascar vanilla bean glaze you’ll fall in love with), Old Fashioned (another classic with a bit more cinnamon flavor than your typical old fashioned-in the best way possible), & Dark Chocolate Valrhona Pearl (the ultimate chocolate indulgence).
