It’s the sort of place where the food tastes just as good as it looks, fitting for it’s location. An Italian restaurant that won’t just serve you spaghetti & meatballs but rather the most indulgent house-made rigatoni with lamb ragu, caciocavallo cheese, & bread crumbs. This spot is Acanto & it’s a must visit while in Chicago.
We recommend starting your meal at Acanto with a meat & cheese selection, preferably the Gran Tartufo Toscano. A Tuscan classic this board is served with toasted crostini & fresh honeycomb. It’s beyond flavorful & the perfect treat to get you prepared for the incredible meal to come.
If you’re looking for a lighter dish the Crispy Brussels Sprouts are a must. Served with white beans, pancetta, & whipped goat cheese, we’re huge fans of the fresh & hearty flavor profiles this dish has to offer.
You’d expect amazing pizza from an Italian restaurant & Acanto did not disappoint. Our two favorites are the sausage & the mushroom & don’t even try to get us to pick a favorite! They’re both absolutely delicious.
Last but certainly not least, you definitely need to get the Risotto which is served with seasonal ingredients & mascarpone parmigiano-reggiano. Our risotto had a crisp flavor to it, something that perfectly complimented it’s creamy texture.
