Where To Eat: La Colombe

Being a foodie city, Chicago has tons of everything to offer: loads of pizza places, numerous Michelin starred restaurants, overwhelming amount of fast casual restaurants, & of course tons of coffee shops. So what makes La Colombe stand out from the others? For starters, upon entering you’ll immediately feel more like a friend of the staffs than a customer. Their welcoming, warm, & outgoing personalities make it an enjoyable experience even if it’s just stopping in on your way to work. Another key factor in making this one of our favorite spots in the city is the ambiance: cool, casual, & cozy. Perfect for a cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter day or relaxing with friends after work, with it’s awesome atmosphere you’ll inevitably lose track of how long you’ve been sitting here. And of course, the food & drinks are another main factor as to why we can’t get enough of this place. When you have an overall experience as wonderful as ours here this place will quickly become a staple in your life. Check out exactly what to order when visiting:

La Colombe in Chicago’s West Loop sources it’s pastries from some of the cities best shops. With pastries from Dollop, biscotti from Gilda, & cookies from Baker & Nosh, you know you’re in for a real treat. Essentially they’re rounded up the best of the best from Chicago staples to allow you to indulge in one location. Thank you, La Colombe, thank you.

One of our must order items at La Colombe is the hot chocolate. Not just because it looks absolutely stunning, ok partly because it looks that good but also because it tastes as good as it looks.

As for pastries, we couldn’t help but try one of each. Their selection from various vendors changes daily based on the freshest products available. We absolutely loved the red pepper, gruyere, & sesame seed croissant.

A few other favorite items at La Colombe are the chocolate croissant (we recommend ordering it with the hot cocoa & dunking it in there!), ham & cheese croissant, & the walnut bread. Truthfully, based on our personal experience, you really can’t go wrong with any of their drinks or food options.
