As you can tell from this site I’m not one for healthy food. Yet I’m a sucker for anything cute & tasty.
To my own surprise, when I tried store-bought yogurt covered berries I fell in love. Yogurt & berries, I thought, this has to be a healthy treat! That was until I flipped the bag over & found it filled with 38grams of sugar per serving…yikes! Even I know thats a crazy amount. Plus if I’m going to do a sugar overload I’m going to do it the right way with cakes, cookies, brownies, etc.
Then it hit me, I can make all of these myself. With some fresh fruit, a few flavors of yogurt, & a freezer, there was nothing stopping me from making this natural, healthy, & very delicious snack. The opportunities are endless for this treat – raisins, fruit, pretzels, almonds – & it makes the perfect on-the-go snack.
