It’s a common story of young 20 something’s moving to Los Angeles with big dreams. Yet with Arielle Lorre of The Blonde Files, at the time of her move to LA she had no dreams, “I was actually in the height of my alcoholism & addiction. I didn’t have roots anywhere, I was kind of aimless, I didn’t have any aspirations,” she notes. Years later, Arielle has found a career path, one that focuses solely on health, wellness & inspiring others. Arielle has used what she had to overcome as a source of help for others, “I don’t want to just post pictures of my body or my food or my fashion. I incorporate all of that but ever since I got sober, I always wanted to just be helpful & help people.” Photos of her body however have helped people, she shares inspiring transformation photos along with tips on how to achieve a healthy lifestyle in her captions. The fashion photos usually always come with a “look for less” option on her stories immediately after. Regardless of the topic, Arielle is eager to share her knowledge & struggles with whomever it may help. After transcribing our interview with Arielle, we found a variety of the word help was used over 20 times. Whether you personally have struggled with anything from addiction to anxiety, gut health to hormones, Arielle is sharing tips on all of them & tips to be your healthiest & happiest self.
SOCIAL MEDIA & ENTREPRENEURSHIP:
Arielle credits a lot of her initial success to BBG, a fitness & health plan developed by Instagram sensation who boasts over 11 million followers on Instagram, Kayla Itsines. Having started her Instagram as a form of accountability for making healthy, positive changes in her life, Arielle began sharing her journey on BBG & Kayla took notice. Kayla’s team asked Arielle to help Kayla out at an event she was hosting in LA where Arielle essentially served as Kayla’s right-hand assistant. She credits that to starting her initial following but it was the storytelling that helped her maintain an audience & ultimately grow The Blonde Files into the business it is today. Engaging with her community is at the top of Arielle’s priority list & she advises you do the same if you want a captive audience, “I try to be a real person instead of just posting a picture & moving on.” That involves responding to nearly every DM she receives, answering questions & comments left on her photos, & being there for people when they approach her in public. Though it’s clear Arielle has put a lot of her time & effort into building this brand, she wants it to be known she didn’t start The Blonde Files until she was 30 & it’s taken her nearly 3 years to get it to where it is today noting, “I think people feel so much pressure to know what they want to do & be successful by a certain age. The pressure that we put on ourselves is a little unnecessary.”
Helpful Takeaways? Be yourself. Be consistent. Engage with your audience. Analyze what your audience is engaging in. & RELAX.
HEALTH & WELLNESS:
While Arielle comes from a family of naturally health-conscious eaters where she grew up cooking “some intricate things & then mac & cheese with ranch dressing,” she laughs at how far her diet has come to this day. If you follow Arielle now you know that’s not necessarily something she would post about, maybe a vegan, gluten-free mac & cheese with some Primal Kitchen ranch, but she’s all about real foods, real ingredients. “The foundation upon which a healthy body is built can’t out-train a bad diet,” has become her motto which is why she’s eliminated “diets” all-together. “My radar goes off if there’s something that’s a trend [food-wise]”, she explains that while she understands how Keto or intermittent fasting can be helpful for some, she believes the key to conquering all food battles is to just eat real foods, “everything in moderation & nothing processed”. It took a while for Arielle to figure this all out though, as it does for most of us (if we ever do…) & most recently, she counted macros, a food philosophy (or diet as some refer to it) for knowing how much protein, carbs, & fat you’re consuming along with your total caloric intake. She credits counting macros to teaching her about portion control however as someone who has previously struggled with an eating disorder, Arielle notes the entire experience is “a little bit of shaking territory” for her, hence her return to clean eating & enjoyable eating. She eats food that make her feel good, she listens to her body, “Sometimes I’m like I need a burger right now & I’ll listen to that. I always have chocolate at night no matter what, always.”
Helpful Takeaways? Eat real foods… & eat chocolate.
So what does a day in the life food-wise look like for Arielle? She shared her favorite foods, meals & brands below:
BREAKFAST: coconut yogurt with almond butter, banana, hemp seeds, chia seeds along with a matcha (she uses Vital Proteins in her matcha every morning & really loves their collagen & beef gelatin) & she makes her husband a smoothie every morning which according to Arielle, that makes him feel “#HealthyLiving” 😂
LUNCH: protein with roasted veggies (i.e. salmon or turkey burgers with cooked veggies since raw ones tend to bloat Arielle as they’re harder to digest)
SNACK: almond flour crackers with avocado, Bulletproof vanilla protein bars, Siete chips, or Owl Venice bone broth
DINNER: riced cauliflower (mixed in with actual rice because Arielle notes otherwise it’s like “eating nothing” #relatable) along with roasted veggies that she makes in her air-fryer (she sprays her air-fryer with Primal Kitchen avocado oil to get them super crispy on the outside & soft on the inside)
DESSERT: always chocolate from her full sized chocolate drawer in the fridge (one of favorite brands include Hu Chocolate that she used in this recipe!)
While this is just a sampling of what Arielle eats in a day, it’s always changing based on where she is, what she has going on, & what’s in season. She notes that while this might be a great guide for someone to eat healthier & inspire them to incorporate different ingredients, what works for her might not work for you. Listen to your body & eat what feels good to you! As always, eat real foods. It’s takeaways like these that Arielle is passionate about sharing with her followers & those who are willing to listen. It’s what makes her relatable, that & wanting to spend a day in the kitchen with Chrissy Teigen…
