Crab rangoon has long been one of our favorites indulgences. The sweet cream cheese mixed with fresh crab & a fried dough is the combination of our dreams. While typically the shell is deep fried, we’re amateurs when it comes to frying so we decided to go another route in recreating this delicious recipe: Crab Rangoon Pizza.
Essentially the base & fillings of this recipe are the same as it’s original form just without the frying. Aka this recipe is a bit healthier than your typical crab rangoon. Figuring that we can eat an entire bag from takeout of the traditional form, we’re happy to have found a better alternative. Once you construct the dough into the pizza shape you simply top it with cream cheese (as you would on a regular pizza with tomato sauce), sprinkle on the toppings (as you would with cheese on a regular pizza), bake it, drizzle on some sweet chili sauce, & you’re good to go. Taking under 30 minutes to make this is one recipe you can guarantee we’ll be making over & over again. Yes, you read that right, 30 minutes to make a dough & toppings. Fortunately, this thin crust dough recipe does not need to rise as most doughs do saving you a ton of time & hassle. If crab rangoon isn’t your thing, you can always use this dough recipe for another type of pizza.
